REQUEST SERVICES

Thanks for submitting!

  • How do I book you?
Request a session in the contact form above. The first step forward in the booking process is scheduling a free video consultation.
  • When do your books open?
I typically start booking sessions 1-2 months in advance, and announce openings at the beginning of each month via instagram--but you can sign up for early notification at the form below. I am almost always accepting requests for live show stills, depending my availability on the show date itself.
  • Do you require a deposit?
Yes. Typically, half of the session total is due up front as a deposit ($25 for live shows).
  • Do you do Family Portraits? Engagements? Weddings?
I do not currently offer family event services. I cater largely to the various portrait needs of the performing arts, as well as executive/corporate headshots.
  • What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept cash, Zelle, Venmo, Paypal (credit option), and checks.
  • I requested a session. What now?
I'll be in touch! If it's a service I offer and am available for, we'll schedule a free video consultation to discuss further steps.
  • When will I get my images?
For solo portraits, delivery of images is currently averaging 4-6 weeks. Please keep this in mind when reaching out for images needed by a deadline. For live shows, delivery of images is one week (pending completed payment and release forms from cast).
  • What if I want/need my images sooner?
I can typically offer one image to be delivered early as a curtesy when requested/agreed upon during the consultation period, however expedited delivery (1-2 weeks) for the remaining images comes with a 50-100% price markup, depending on the number of sessions already in line for editing. Images may not be expedited individually after the first image. I do not deliver raw/unedited files.
  • Do I get to choose my final photos?
For creative portraits & solo headshots, yes. We sit down together over Zoom before editing begins, as you rank your images. The final delivery takes this ranking into account. For studio events and company-wide headshots, yes. You choose your limited images via photo album of watermarked proofs. For live shows, no. However, cast members are given the opportunity to request pre-approval via private photo album. A minimum amount of edits is guaranteed in your invoice, any additional amount is variable & may be subject to extra fees for some packages.
  • Can I just have the RAW images?
Nope! This artist doesn't sell rough drafts.
  • What if I don't want my images shared?
Sharing my work is an essential aspect of freelancing, and so is consent. For live shows, the cast is given the option of selective pre-approval or opting out of images entirely (and the images will not be used by anyone, myself included). For creative projects, exclusivity is available upon request for a 50-100% markup, depending on the length of time (temporarily until an album or publication release vs indefinitely), and the images’ intended destination (large publication, onlyfans, dating sites, etc). For bulk studio & company-wide headshot days, folks can opt out of sharing with no fee or withholding of images.
  • How much of my body do you edit?
My general rule for retouching is that I only edit what is temporary (like blemishes) or changed by lighting (like under eyes). I do not alter permanent aspects of your body. However, you can make specific requests during our post-session review. You can also look here for a variety of before/after examples.
  • Can I purchase prints?
I do not currently offer prints, but can provide a larger file copy for printing on your own, upon request. Separate licensing is needed if you intend to sell the prints.
  • Can I sell merch with my photo on it?
Not without purchasing separate licensing. You can use the images we make together to advertise your sold products/services and as gifts/prizes, but if you would like to sell the image itself as a product we must agree on separate terms.
  • Where are you located?
I am based out of Chicago, and my studio is located in Lakeview. Travel may carry an additional cost.
  • Do you have a studio?
Yes! I largely work out of The Newport Studio in Lakeview. But there are multiple options for locations (indoor and outdoor) at different price points, tailored to the concept of our session.
  • Do you offer makeup or hair services?
I do not personally offer these services, but can make recommendations for local artists to hire separately.
  • Can I bring a friend/my partner along?
Absolutely! Bringing a trusted person can make you feel comfortable & can help spot some detail adjustments on set. Please no children or pets, though.

Working with Jess was an absolute joy. I felt very supported and empowered. Final edits were in my inbox exactly a month to the day after our session together, and they are absolutely stunning. Overall, I cannot speak highly enough of Jess' professionalism, keen creative eye, or the comfortable and fun environment they cultivated in the studio. I look forward to working with Jess again soon in the near future!
